Before proceeding with your purchase, please review the PAR-Q questions and information below & complete the declaration
As a reminder, the PAR-Q questions are intended for people aged between 15 and 69
- Has your doctor ever indicated that you have a heart condition or that you only do physical activity recommended by a doctor?
- Have you ever had chest pains brought on by physical activity?
- In the past month, have you had chest pains when you were not doing physical activity?
- Do you lose your balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness?
- Do you have bone or joint problems (eg back, knees, hips) that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity levels?
- Have you or your doctor ever raised any concerns regarding your blood pressure?
- Have you recently taken any medicine that could affect your body’s response to physical activity?
- Do you know of any other reason you should not increase your level of physical activity?
If you answer NO to all the questions
If you answer NO honestly to all the PAR-Q questions, you can reasonably be sure that you can start becoming much more physically active – begin slowly and build up gradually.
- If you are not used to physical activity, start with the Level 1 exercises in the workouts.
- If you are normally physically active, choose Level 2 or Level 3 depending on your current ability. If in doubt, start at the lower level; you can always progress if it is too easy. This is the safest way to proceed.
Delay becoming much more physically active:
- if you are not feeling well because of a temporary illness such as a cold or a fever – wait until you feel better.
- if you are or may be pregnant – talk to your doctor before you start becoming more active.
If you answer YES to one or more questions
It is advised you talk to your doctor BEFORE you start to become more physically active. Tell the doctor about the PAR-Q and which questions you answered YES to.
You may be able to do any activity you want – as long as you start off slowly and build up gradually. Or you may need to restrict your activities to those that are safe to you. Talk to your doctor about the kinds of activities you wish to participate in and follow his/her advice.
Please note:
