REFER A FRIEND

Darren STeward - DCS Health and Fitness

Hi I’m Darren

I’m delighted that you are interested in your friend’s referral to my DCS Monthly Pass.

The  Pass provides access to 6 live online HIIT group workouts every week which you can join either via Zoom or Facebook, together with:

  • 24/7 unlimited access to On Demand workouts including 3 different interval HIIT sessions (updated weekly), recovery stretch session, aerobic dance workout and dumbbell resisted workouts. Some of the On Demand workouts are shorter, express workouts (15-20 minute) to make it more convenient to fit into your day.
  • membership of a private Facebook group where the live workout is available to watch at any time until the next live workout is broadcast.

The DCS Monthly Pass is £40, but as your friend referred you, I’m offering a 50% DISCOUNT on your first Monthly Pass*.  After that, if you subscribe and pay for each coming month by the 25th, you will get a 10% discount, so £36 a month.  When you purchase your first DCS Monthly Pass, your friend will receive a Referral Bonus*.

We need to check whether or not you need to consult with your doctor before starting the workouts. Completing my Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) below should give you the indications you need. When you submit your PAR-Q, I’ll check your eligibility to the 50% Initial Discount for your first DCS Monthly Pass and then send you the discount code and a payment link.

Don’t forget to put your friend’s Referral Code on the PAR-Q form to make sure your friend gets their Referral Bonus*.  Once you become a DCS Monthly Pass Member,  you too can earn Referral Bonuses by referring friends.

I hope to see you soon at one of our live workouts.

REFERRAL PAR-Q

If you answer NO to all the health questions

If you answer NO honestly to all the PAR-Q questions, you can reasonably be sure that you can start becoming much more physically active – begin slowly and build up gradually.

  • If you are not used to physical activity, start with the Level 1 exercises in the workouts.
  • If you are normally physically active, choose Level 2 or Level 3 depending on your current ability. If in doubt, start at the lower level; you can always progress if it is too easy. This is the safest way to proceed.

Delay becoming much more physically active:

  • if you are not feeling well because of a temporary illness such as a cold or a fever – wait until you feel better.
  • if you are or may be pregnant – talk to your doctor before you start becoming more active.

If you answer YES to one or more health questions

It is advised you talk to your doctor BEFORE you start to become more physically active. Tell the doctor about the PAR-Q and which questions you answered YES to.

You may be able to do any activity you want – as long as you start off slowly and build up gradually. Or you may need to restrict your activities to those that are safe to you. Talk to your doctor about the kinds of activities you wish to participate in and follow his/her advice.

Please note:

  • If your health changes so that you then would answer YES to any of the health questions, please contact me to ask ask about whether you should continue with the workouts.
  • If you answer Yes to any of the health questions below but participate in my online workouts without consulting your doctor or you are 70 or over, you do so at your own risk.

How to use Zoom

Do I need Zoom?

If you want to take part in the LIVE workouts  you will need to use ZOOM.  If you only want to follow the recorded workouts you don’t need Zoom.

How much does Zoom cost?

Zoom offers FREE user accounts.  You just need to sign up for an account – and the FREE account won’t bother you with adverts or the like whilst you are using it.

How do I get a Zoom account?

Click here to go to the Zoom sign up page.   Sign up using your email and choose a password.  There are options to sign in using your Google or Facebook account if you want.

How do I access the LIVE workouts?

If you have a Monthly Pass, you can go to the Members Area of the DCS Health and Fitness website where you will find links to  the live workouts for the month.

If you have purchased a single workout, you should have received an email with the link to the workout you have chosen.

When you click on the link, you should see the following screen.

Do I have to join the workout at the precise start time?

No, it is better that you join the meeting about 5 minutes before the start.   You will find yourself in a ‘Waiting Room’ – I will ‘admit’ you to the  workout shortly before it starts (The Waiting Room is a security precaution to prevent uninvited people joining).

If you try to join before the workout starts, you will get a message telling you when the workout is scheduled for.

If you are late joining, I will still admit you to the meeting if we are still in the warm-up phase of the workout, but after that I may not be able to let you into the workout.

What sound and video settings do I need to use?

You’ll need to use the ‘Computer Audio’ in order to hear my instructions.  Zoom will ask you if you want to join using Computer Audio – accept that.

Zoom will also ask you if you want to join using video – if you say ‘Yes’ then you will be visible to the rest of your workout class with the  name you use for Zoom displayed at the bottom of your picture.  If you say ‘No’ then your name will be displayed in a black box.

Zoom Class Speaker view
This is what a Zoom class looks like in 'Speaker' view - some devices may not show the strip across the top

Will people be able to hear me?

I automatically ‘mute’ all people joing the workout.  Please keep your device muted during the workout – you are welcome to switch microphone on at the end of the workout if you want to say goodbye to your classmates.

Do I use Speaker View or Gallery View?

It’s up to you, but Speaker view is better as it will be easier to see Darren demonstrating the exercises.

Any problems?

If you’re having problems with Zoom, you can find more information here – or contact me.
